Charlie Mansfield

Welcome.

My name is Charlie. I am a qualified Integrative Counsellor and a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I offer a safe, confidential and understanding environment for you to explore your thoughts and feelings. Whether you are looking for short-term therapy relating to a specific issue, or long-term therapy for ongoing problems that are impacting your life, I can help.

I work with adults, young people and children aged 5+ years. As well as my private practice, I have experience of counselling for local agencies, including North Kent Mind, and within mainstream and special schools across Kent. A keen interest of mine is working with individuals with Special Educational Needs.

Counselling can help you discover new insight and understanding about yourself, as well as working out new ways of approaching situations. I am not there to tell you what to do but to work alongside you in building a trusting relationship and encourage you through your difficulties.

Counselling is a talking therapy that aims to improve an individual’s well-being and mental health. It allows people to explore their thoughts and feelings in a safe, confidential environment with a trained professional.

Common subjects that can be addressed are:

  • Anxiety / Stress
  • Depression
  • Addiction
  • Bereavement
  • Illness / Chronic Pain
  • Trauma
  • Relationships
  • Working integratively means that I use three main theoretical approaches: the Person-Centred Approach, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Psychodynamic Theory. I will integrate these models depending on your needs. I understand that one size does not fit all and, therefore, I may also use play, sand, art and creative materials alongside talking therapy to explore your problems in a way that works best for you.
